The library has several resources that can help you learn a foreign language.  Here are some options:

1.       Books and ebooks.  We have a decent selection of foreign language textbooks and course books.  Best way to find them would be to use the Search Everything box on the library homepage.  Type in the keywords [NAME OF LANGUAGE] + LANGUAGE (for example, SPANISH LANGUAGE or JAPANESE LANGUAGE).  When the results come back, limit to “Catalog Only”.  Finally, under the Location limit option, select "Main Collection" for print books or “Online Resource” for ebooks.

2.       Films on Demand language videos.  Our Films on Demand database has some streaming videos relating to foreign language learning and culture.  Go to Films on Demand.  Once in the database, click on the tab called “Collections.”  Pick the one for “World Languages.”  There are several categories for different languages, and you can pick the one you think would work best for you.  (Direct link, also, here.)

3.       Languages & Culture Research Guide.  Marilou Hinchcliff, the librarian for the Languages & Culture department, has put together a research guide, which includes additional resources for online language learning.  Her guide can be found here: http://guides.library.bloomu.edu/content.php?pid=599803&sid=4946816
