Typically the library does not have the textbooks used in courses, unless a professor has put a book on Reserve in the Library for his/her class. (These books may be checked out for a 2-hour period in the Library.)

To see if a book is on Reserve, click on BU Books & More on the tabbed search bar and then go to Course Reserves. Search by Instructor, Academic Department, or Course Name. If your book is not listed, this means your professor has not put it on reserve.

The Library may have books that are required texts (as opposed to a textbook) for courses, such as the Communist Manifesto for a Political Science course.  To learn if the Library has a book that is required for class, search by title, etc. in BU Books & More
